The Granite City Electric Charitable Foundation

The Granite City Electric Charitable Foundation was created to assist charitable efforts within the New England and surrounding communities in which Granite City Electric operates. The Foundation’s main objective is to help children lead healthy, active lives through the funding of various sports programs, arts initiatives, and medical research. As part of the company’s mission, a portion of our profits are contributed to the Foundation annually.

 Be Like Brit

Britney Gengel was a vibrant nineteen-year-old student at Lynn University, she was a sophomore when she traveled to Haiti in January 2010 to work for an aide group. Deeply moved, she texted her mother that she dreamed of returning to open an orphanage of her own. But hours later, an earthquake leveled Port-au-Prince and the Hotel Montana where Britney’s group was staying.

In her memory, Britney’s parents and brothers have kept her dream alive by building an orphanage in Grand Goave, Haiti. It took two years to build the 19,000 square foot orphanage, shaped in the letter B.

Granite City Electric Supply provides electrical supplies and services to the Be Like Brit project, making numerous trips and deliveries to Haiti througout the year.  Click here to donate.
